Collaborations
Mare Nostrum has been in operation for nearly a decade and over that period our experience, turnover and client list has continued to grow. Below is a list of some past and present clients and the work we have done for them.

Springer asked us to map, prospect and generate positive leads for a group of Italian University faculties. We built a comprehensive database of the academics in these faculties and then contacted the key decision makers, committees and librarians by email and phone to generate positive leads for the Springer sales team.
'At Springer we recognise that an essential component in maintaining the success of our digital content platform lies in generating the interest and support of key influencer academics. It was with this strategic goal in mind that in 2010 we commissioned Mare Nostrum to cultivate interest and positive leads for Springer Link in the Italian academic market. The project was professionally executed and produced a great deal of interest in Springer's digital platform and we now have an integrated and up-to-date database which we can use to continue driving academics to our content.'

We have provided sales and marketing representation for Palgrave since 2002 and as the relationship has matured we have been given responsibility for new territories and electronic content. In that time Palgrave's profile as a leading humanities and social sciences publisher has developed and aided by this and their increased volume we have grown their sales considerably.
'We have been working with Mare Nostrum since 2002 and David Pickering and his team have provided us with excellent representation in Italy and recently France. We have a strong, collaborative relationship and together it has been possible to improve our profile as an academic publisher in both France and Italy resulting in impressive year-on-year results.

Prior to its acquisition by Wiley we were responsible for the Sales and Marketing operation of Blackwell Publishing in all our territories. During our tenure we developed Blackwell's local marketing strategy through associations and societies and were responsible for impressive growth of their sales base.
'I worked with Mare Nostrum in my position as Regional Sales Manager from the inception of Mare Nostrum to the acquisition of Blackwell Publishing by Wiley in 2008. During this period sales grew significantly in the territories they represented, driven by a dedication to maintaining strong relationships with key local suppliers in all channels, and a sharp focus and determination on building and maintaining accurate data. This was crucial in providing excellent market feedback, which was and certainly is now particularly important as the market for digital products versus print continues to develop.'

In order to build on their successful print sales, marketing and distribution business, CAP have asked us to advise them on developing an e-book sales and marketing strategy in EMEA. With the digital landscape constantly changing this has proved to be a challenging project but our proficiency and understanding of this complex area have enabled us to make a significant contribution to CAP's e-book strategy.
'Mare Nostrum have been providing consultancy services to e-CAP, advising on both tactical and strategic options for CAP's e-book business. Mare Nostrum have been able to bring their experience to bear on a fast-moving and potentially confusing aspect of the business.'

We have provided a sales and marketing service in Southern Europe for Brill Publishing since 2007. Brill had previously managed the territory from head office relying on various distribution partners for their market presence but eventually decided that they required the support of a local team. With the assistance of a newly appointed European Manager we have worked hard to ensure that Brill's coverage and knowledge of the market is now very strong.
'I have managed our relationship with Mare Nostrum since becoming the Brill European Sales Manager in 2007. I have found them to be very thorough and professional in their approach and thanks to this collaboration Brill now has a much greater market penetration and understanding of the territories they manage.'
Eva Wantzen, European Sales Manager, Brill Publishing
