Mare Nostrum signs sales & marketing deal with Bristol University Press

Mare Nostrum is excited to announce that—starting from the 1st of July—it will be providing sales and marketing representation for Bristol University Press (including its imprint Policy Press) in DACH, Benelux, France, and Italy.

As a not-for-profit publisher, Bristol University Press aims to put integrity before profit, and research before sensationalism to ensure that it provides an internationally respected platform for the global scholarly community to disseminate work that matters. BUP’s areas of interest include; politics and international relations; economics and society; human geography; law; and business and management.

Policy Press has its roots in social policy and social justice, and is committed to progressive social change. Over more than twenty years, Policy has built a reputation for publishing scholarship that focuses on improving individual lives and reaches beyond academia to government, professionals and the wider public to inform policy and practice.

Mare Nostrum’s European Sales & Marketing Manager, Francesca Pollard, commented,

With the creation of the new Bristol University Press brand, and the projected growth of their list, we are looking forward to working with Bristol University Press at this particularly exciting time. Having increased other clients’ sales in similar publishing areas we are confident this will be a successful partnership.

Bristol University Press’ Tim Mahar adds,

We are delighted to be represented by Mare Nostrum. From my first conversations with Mare Nostrum it was clear the sales activities were supported by a strong marketing strategy targeting trade, college, and library channels. I am also impressed with the enthusiasm, commitment, and knowledge of the team who drive the business day-to-day.

Our challenge in Europe is to enhance Policy Press and develop the Bristol University Press brand and business. I am excited and confident that Bristol University Press and Mare Nostrum will establish a formidable partnership to best support our customers and authors.
